As one of junior golf's most prestigious events, the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship provides a unique opportunity for junior golfers from around the globe. Every year, thousands of young people compete in local qualifying tournaments. The top finishers advance to the OIJGC. Past Optimist junior golf participants include Tiger Woods, Michelle McGann, Phil Mickelson and Justin Leonard. Our Photo Album from past events is here. |

Volunteers meet quarterly to shop and prepare our "World Famous Taco Bar" for the family residents staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Check the club schedule for our next dinner, and take a look at our Photo Album of the McMeal Makers whipping up dinner. |

The Kent County Optimist Club provides support for the youth at the Kent County Sheriff's Honor Camp. We have also helped in construction of the softball diamond and provided sporting equipment. |

The Optimist Essay Contest presents young people the opportunity to write about their opinions regarding the world in which they live. Optimist International awards each district winner a $650 scholarship for their advanced education. Essay's are judged at the international level, and a first, second and third place scholarship is awarded. |

The Adopt-a Park Program is May thru September with the City of Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department. We have adopted Battjes Park for monthly clean-up. The schedule for our monthly cleanups can be found here. Check out the Adopt-a-Park Photo Album page here |
